1/19/17: Please welcome Sweet Pea! She joins us from Cherokee County Animal Shelter. Her owners dropped her off there because she was not getting along with the smaller dogs in the house. She has been breed multiple times and is overweight! She is now up to date on her vaccinations and will be spayed next week as well as have a small mass removed from her face. She will move into her foster home after two weeks in shelter quarantine and will be ready for adoption once she recovers from spay surgery.
She is eight years old. Apparently she does not like small dogs. At this time we do not know how she feels about cats or young children.
Update 2/5/17: Sweet Pea has been spayed and had a few small masses removed for testing. She was diagnosed with arthritis. We started her on joint supplements and a diet. If the joint supplements and weight loss do not give her enough relief then we will add carprofin to help manage her arthritis.
June 30, 2017: Sweet Pea passed away unexpectedly today. We are so happy that she got to spend the last six months surrounded by people that loved and cared for her. Please keep her foster family, the Dunaway’s, in your thoughts.
