1/17/14: Please welcome Dixie! She came to us from the shelter in LaGrange, Ga. She was dropped off there by some people claiming they got her from a friend. To our knowledge she has never had any vet care.
She is currently being treated for mange and an upper respiratory infection. Once both clear up she will be spayed. She will be spending two weeks in shelter quarantine then she will move into her foster home.
Dixie is 10 months old. We do not know if she likes dogs, cats or children. She appears to be very calm and sweet. More updates as we learn more about this little lady.
Update 2/19/14: Dixie was spayed on 1/29 and moved into her foster home on 2/1. She went back to the vet on 2/17 for a recheck to see if her mange has cleared up. Unfortunately it has not cleared up yet but it is looking much better. She goes back in a month for another recheck. She is loving life in her foster home with her foster brother Petey. They play all the time! She is also living with a five year old little boy and does fine with him.
Update 4/6/14: Dixie has been adopted by her foster family. Congrats Dixie and Thompson family!
December 26, 2021 – Dixie crossed over the rainbow bridge. Please keep her family in your thoughts.
