8/15/22 – Please welcome Teddy Grahams! For the past two months Teddy Grahams has been at the shelter waiting on a court case to be settled. But today he was sprung from the shelter and joined the rescue!
Here is the story we were told from the shelter…
On June 10th a concerned citizen called animal control to tell them about a living dog in a crate along with a dead decomposed dog body in their neighbor’s yard. Once on property animal control also found two dogs locked in a cabinet with a zip tie. We do not know how long the dogs were in the cabinet, but we know they only had a few inches of extra space to move around in. The owners of dogs have been charged with four counts of felony animal cruelty charges and are behind bars. The staff and volunteers at Upson County Animal Control took great care of Teddy for the two months he was with them. Then called us the moment he was released from their care so that he could join the rescue. One of the other dogs was adopted by a local shelter vet but unfortunately the other did not survive. We are extremely excited to welcome Teddy to rescue.
8/23/22 – Teddy Grahams had surgery today and all went well. He was neutered, had his teeth cleaned, had his palate shortened, have his saccules removed, had his nares widened, and had two cherry eyes tacked down. He has been diagnosed with mild dry eye and will need prescription eye drops for life.
10/10/22 – Teddy Grahams is adjusting to life inside the house, but it is a work in progress. His foster parents are teaching him that potty happens outside and that there will always be food to eat. He has been through so much already in his life.
11/10/22 – We had been treating an eye ulcer for the past few days, the right eye was ruptured, but sealed. There was a large secondary water blister surrounding his perforation. He did have light sensation but no other useful vision. We made the decision to remove his eye. The surgery went well and we expect he will adjust to life just fine with only one eye!
4/29/23 – Teddy Grahams is doing great in his foster home but still searching for the perfect forever home!
6/14/23 – Teddy Grahams has been adopted!
