Stevie Ray – October 21, 2021

Hello Everybully,

My name Stevie Ray, and I’m too sexy for my shirt…..uh! excuse me, I got carried away for a second.

I have Parvo, BUT, that doesn’t stop me much at all… here’s my story narrated by this wonderful lady who, along with this great network of wunderful humans, rescued me, please read on.:

Stevie Ray is a 12 week old pup battling Parvo. He has fought a valiant battle thus far and all indications are that he is going to win.
Stevie was purchased a short time ago, by a person who had no idea how expensive bulldogs could be. She purchased him for $1500.00 but didn’t have any money left over for vet care…. His booster puppy vaccines were only one week late…..so, one of the most dreaded diseases took a strong hold on his little body. They requested that Stevie be put to sleep, the vet refused. From there Stevie’s story is amazing. If any of you have tried to get me on the telephone, you know how difficult it can be. My phone rang Sunday morning and by a small miracle, I was in reach of the darn thing. On the line was Cathy Miller, an old friend and breeder of some of the most beautiful show bulldogs I have ever seen. She knows how much I covet her babies!! Next to her was Chris Herrington, another friend and breeder of show dogs who was on the phone with the Savannah Emergency Vet Clinic. The rescue was done over the phone in a matter of moments.
With the help of Courtnee in NC(adoptive mom to Clementine), her friend Amber in Buford GA and Facebook, transport was arranged for Monday morning.
Stevie Ray’s original name was Stanley but we thought it would be best to change his name to commerate his new life. He was named after Ch. Mars Hill Scuttle Buttin’ (Stevie Ray), Cathy Miller’s first home bred champion and one of the most beautiful and sweet bullies I have ever come in contact with. Stevie died unexpectedly a few short weeks after he attained his champion status. My heart was broken but it was nothing in comparison to Cathy’s heart break.
So, in tribute to Cathy, Chris and Ch. Mars Hill Scuttle Buttin’, please welcome Stevie Ray, the puppy to GEBR.

Ladies and Gentlemen please, please we will ONLY consider those of you who have properly and completely filled out AND MAILED in an adoption application for this handsome little guy.  So head on over to our Adoption page, download the application, fill it out completely, and mail it to the address on the application.

12/22/10: His health has again been compromised by a respiratory infection and now a small patch of mange on the top of his head.  He is being pampered by his foster family and slowly improving.

Update 01/19/11:

Sweet boy is growing like a weed and becoming more bullicious by the day.  He will be available for adoption as soon as he is cleared by our vet.

Stevie Ray has been adopted by his foster family!
