10/20/15: Please welcome Shuggs! Shuggs joined us today from a shelter in Augusta, GA. He is headed straight to Dr. Brown’s office for a check up and two weeks of shelter quarantine.
Shuggs has a skin infection, and ear infection, dry eye, he needs to be neutered and he needs entropian surgery. He will have surgery and we will start treating all of his infections this week.
We believe he is between 4-5 years old. The shelter said he seems to like other dogs. We have seen him around one five year old child for a brief time while at the vet clinic and he seemed very uncomfortable. He got pretty excited when the child moved then charged, barked, and even growled at the child. He is great with adults; loves to be pet and be loved on. For everyone’s safety we will limit his exposure to young children, at least until we get to know him better. We do not know if he likes cats.
Update: 11/11/15: Shuggs is doing well in his foster home with one his foster brother and foster sister. There are no young children in the house, just teenagers. We got the results from his skin culture and we will need to treat his skin infection for three weeks then he will see Dr Ross for a recheck.
Update 7/8/16: Shuggs has been adopted by his foster mom. Congrats Shuggs, Lauren and Charlotte!
February 28, 2019: Shuggs passed over the Rainbow Bridge today. Please keep his family in your thoughts.
