9/17/16: Please welcome Roxie! Roxie has been passed through four homes in her short life before making her way to us. The last person to have her took her to the vet and treated her eye and ear infections and got her vaccinated. She knew she would not be able to keep her but she wanted to get her the care she needed then get her to us. She suspects she originally came from a puppy mill. Her spirit was really broken when she brought her home but she has made good progress in the two weeks she had her. In the beginning she was only able to touch her on her head but before she left she was able to pet her all over and Roxie was cuddling up against her for attention. She is laid back and calm but we are working on trust. She is in heat and will be spayed once her heat cycle is done. She will be ready for adoption once she recovers from surgery.
She is three years old. She would do best as the only dog in the home. She ignored the cat that came around occasionally in the last house she was in. We do not know how she feels about young children but she is currently living with a teenager and seems to like him.
Update 9/29/16: Roxie is getting used to the good life! She completed her heat cycle and will be spayed next week.
Update 10/30/16: Roxie surgery went well. She is still getting used to human interaction but making progress daily.
Update 3/1/18: We started Roxie on Prozac to help with her anxiety.
Update 8/1/18: Roxie has been adopted by her foster family. Congrats Roxie and Willard family!
July 1, 2019 – Roxie crossed over the Rainbow Bridge today. Please keep her family in your thoughts.
Rest In Peace Roxie
