8/4/23 – Please welcome Mocha Jo! Mocha Jo was turned over to us by the shelter after she was abandoned by her owner at a vet clinic. Apparently Mocha Jo was pregnant and was brought to the emergency clinic for help with a difficult birth. She delivered one puppy that morning that passed away, then another that evening that passed away, and when they went to operate on her the remaining puppies inside her belly had all been dead. Once she recovered from surgery and was ready to go home her owners never came to pick her up and stopped communicating with the clinic. They suspect now that she was spayed, she was no longer any use to them. But we are happy to have her in rescue where she can live a spoiled life and no longer have to go through that kind of torture. She has been diagnosed with dry eye and will need eye drops for life. She has a respiratory infection; but once that clears up, she will have surgery.
8/24/23 – Mocha Jo had surgery today and all went well. She had both cherry eyes tacked down and she had her teeth cleaned.
10/30/23 – Mocha Jo has been adopted!
