2/25/21 – Please welcome Maggie Kate. Maggie Kate was turned over to us by her family because she was not happy living with a young child or the dog that moved into the home. They asked us to find her a home with no dogs, cats or young children. She is up to date on her vaccinations but needs to be spayed, have her palate shortened and have her nostrils widened. We are also treating her for an ear infection.
2/26/21 – Maggie Kate had her surgery today and all went well! She will see the vet in two weeks to have her stitches removed and have her ears rechecked to be sure her infection has cleared up.
4/1/21 – Maggie Kate hasn’t been feeling well the past two weeks. She has had a fever every other day and an elevated white blood cell count. And we found out she has an ACL tare in her knee. She saw the internal medicine specialist and the orthopedic specialist yesterday. We still are not 100% sure what is causing the elevated white blood cell count but we do think we found an antibiotic to help while we wait on a few test results.
4/16/21 – Maggie Kate has been in and out of the vet since March 19th with a white blood cell count and elevated fever. After multiple tests and a visit to the internal medicine specialist we still are unsure what is causing her to be sick. We have tried multiple medications with limited success. Yesterday we changed the treatment plan from infection to auto immune, but she did not tolerate this either. Unfortunately she crossed over the rainbow bridge with no real answers why. We are heartbroken and confused.
April 16, 2020: Maggie Kate crossed over the rainbow bridge today.
