8/7/18: Please welcome Higgins! He was picked up by animal control as a stray and when no one came looking for him he joined the rescue. He needs to be vaccinated, have his teeth cleaned, have a few decaying teeth extracted, have his palate shortened, his nostril widened and his tonsils removed.
He is eight years old. He likes dogs but we do not know at this time how he feels about cats or young children.
Update 8/16/18: Higgins had his surgery today and all went well. He will move into his foster home in a few days.
Update 8/28/18: Higgins is full of poop! We did x rays to confirm then enemias to attempt to empty him out but they are not helping. He will be sedated tomorrow and we will manually extract the compounded poop in his colon. Hopefully this a one time issue and not something major like megacolon. We will add daily dose of lactulose and what him closely.
Update 9/17/18: Higgins has been pooping more than enough the past few weeks! We have gradually lowered his dose of lactulose and he has been off of it completely for two days now. So far so good!
Update 10/30/18: Higgins is doing great in his foster home with his foster brother. He is happy, healthy and looking for his forever family!
Update 11/24/18: Higgins has been adopted. Congrats Higgins and Taylor family!
April 4, 2019: Higgins passed over the Rainbow Bridge today. Please keep his family in your thoughts.
