8/11/23 – Please welcome Bertuzzi! Bertuzzi was picked up as a stray and turned over to us by the shelter. He will have surgery once his respiratory infection clears up.
8/25/23 – Bertuzzi’s respiratory infection has cleared up but he has had once seizure while in our care and one while at the shelter. His blood work showed his liver values where slightly elevated.
8/29/23 – We did an ultrasound today and his liver looks fine. We also started seizure medications today and will monitor him over the next four weeks then move forward with surgery.
9/28/23 – Bertuzzi had surgery today and all went well. He was neutered, had his palate, shortened, his nares widened, his teeth cleaned. His dry eye levels are still pretty low so we are switching him from cyclosporine to tacrolimus eye drops. His phenobarbital level was normal so we will continue him on his current dose of this medication. He has not had any seizures still starting the medication.
10/2/23 – Unfortunate Bertuzzi has aspiration pneumonia. He will be on iv medications for a few days while we monitor this.
10/5/23 – We were able to switch him to oral medication today and he is keeping food down and starting to feel better!
10/10/23 – Bertuzzi had his recheck today and his pneumonia has cleared up!
11/22/23 – Bertuzzi has been adopted. Congrats Bertuzzi and Silvey family!
