12/9/14: Please welcome Baby! Baby came to us from a shelter in Georgia. The shelter placed her in a foster home but soon realized she did not want to be with other dogs. She is with us now at the vet. She is heartworm positive and will begin her treatment soon. Once her treatment is complete she will move into her foster home.
She is approximately four years old. We are told she does not like dogs. She has been around a seven year old child and loves her. We do not know if she likes cats.
Update 1/31/15: Baby finished her heartworm treatment and moved into her foster home. Unfortunately while she was at the shelter they gave her a Depo Medrol shot which can stay in a dogs system for 8-12 weeks. This means we need to put off her spay surgery for a few months. She loves attention, toys and the couch! She will relax and be spoiled for the next two months then she will be spayed. She will be available or adoption once she recovers from spay surgery.
Update 6/25/15: Poor Baby has been battling horrible skin infections the past few months. We think we finally have it under control! We will wait 6-8 weeks before we spay here to be sure her skin in completely better.
Update 12/30/15: Well we thought we had Baby’s skin issues under control but we were mistaken. It has been a constant battle with her skin, her weight and ear infections. We have been trying many different things and we will keep trying until we get it right! We recently did a thyroid test and that is ok. We also did allergy testing and based on that we switched her food. We are starting her on NuVet supplements to see if we can clear up her chronic ear infections. She has been with us a year now and has not gone into heat so we are under the impression that perhaps she is already spayed.
Update 4/23/16: Baby has been adopted by her foster mom. Congrats Baby and Annette!
May 23, 2018: Baby Harriet crossed over the rainbow bridge today. Please keep her family in your thoughts.
Rest In Peace Baby Harriet
