Sloopy

2/28/26 – Please welcome Sloopy! She was picked up as a stray and turned over to us by the shelter. She will have surgery once her respiratory infection clears up.

4/15/26 – Sloopy had surgery today and all went well! She was spayed, had her cherry eyes tacked down, entropion surgery on her eye lids, her palate shortened, her tonsils removed, her nares widened, her teeth cleaned and one tooth extracted.

approximate age: 3
approximate weight: 30
likes dogs: she seems to enjoy the larger male alpha dog in her foster home but will need proper time and space to decompress when meeting other dogs
likes cats: there is one in her foster home but has not interacted with him much, her foster parents think she would be fine around cats
likes kids: she does well with the 3 and 12 year old children in her foster home. At times she gets a little over stimulated with too much young kid action going on around her
food: taste of the wild, pacific stream
lifelong medications: none
likes: attention and stuffed toys
dislikes: we have not found much yet, but maybe sharing attention with other dogs in not her favorite thing
ideal home: She just wants to be loved and give love. She is a lap dog for sure and wants to snuggle with anyone who sits down on the couch! She is such a sweet girl that is starved for love and attention! We think Sloopy would do well in any home that can provide her with a little play time and a lot of snuggle time. She gets the zoomies sometimes, so a fenced yard would be fun for her, and then she is ready to crash! She may understand that Tank is her elder and is bigger and clearly the alpha here, or it may just have been the way we introduced them, so they seems to get along fine. She is meant to be a lap dog for sure, and although she is good with the kids and Tank, maybe a home with older kids and no dog may be the way to go for her.
