3/25/26 – Please welcome Winchester! Winchester was picked up as a stray and turned over to us by the shelter. He is already dealing with an upper respiratory infection. Once that clears up, we will move forward with his surgery. He has a severe tail pocket infection that is very painful. We will treat the infection with oral antibiotics until he can have his tail amputated.
4/16/26 – Winchester had surgery today and all went well! He was neutered, has his palate shortened, his nares widened and his tail amputated.
approximate age: 3
approximate weight: 54
likes dogs: he generally does like the two in his foster home but struggles a bit with sharing attention, although he is getting better with this
likes cats: he seems startled and curious by the one in his foster home
likes kids: we have not seem him around kids, he has a bit of energy so we are not comfortable placing him with young children with we think he would do ok with teenagers
food: Taste of the Wild, Pacific Stream
lifelong medications: none
likes: toys, attention, playing in the yard, snuggling, walks, and water. He loves to join you in the shower and play with the hose in the backyard
dislikes: he does love to share attention but is warming up to it
ideal home: He would do best in an active home with people and/or a dog that can move, play and walk with him. He loves to take walks! He has some young dog energy and will need an owner that can help him release that energy. He can get a little snippy at times when playing tug so he needs an owner that will continue work on correcting this behavior. He also jumps and humps when excited so he needs an owner that will continue to work on this behavior as well.
