5/4/23 – Please welcome Godiva! Someone found her in the middle of a backroad in rural Georgia. They knocked on a few doors but were not able to locate her owner so they took her to the shelter to be scanned for a microchip. She does have a microchip and the shelter spoke with the name on the registration. They told the shelter that they gave her away three years ago. The phone number for that person they gave her to was no longer in use. The original owner didn’t want her back. She has a horrible skin infection and two huge cherry eyes. We know from her microchip that her name is Godiva, her birthday is 3/16/16 and she is already spayed. She has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and will need prescription medication for this if life.
5/9/23 – Godiva had surgery today and all went well! She has her cherry eyes tacked down, her palate shortened, her tonsils removed, her nares widened and her teeth cleaned. We are treating her for eye, ear and skin infections. She will see the vet again in three weeks for a check up.
6/2/23 – Godiva had her check up today. Her skin is looking much better but we are still working on her skin infection. She has been diagnosed with dry eye and will be on prescription eye drops for life.
6/20/23 – Godiva had her recheck today and her ear infection is cleared up. She does have some ongoing skin issues that we are treating topically and with cytopoint allergy shots.
9/28/23 – Godiva had been adopted. Congratulation Godiva and Johnson family!
