1/9/20: Please welcome Piazza! He joins us from Clayton County Animal Control. He was picked up as a stray and when no one came looking for him he was able to join the rescue. He needs to be vaccinated, neutered, and possible airway surgery. He is not putting much weight on his back-left leg so we will do x rays and set up a consult with the orthopedic specialist.
1/16/20: Piazza had his surgery today and all went well! He was neutered, had his palate shortened, had his saccules removed and had his nostrils widened. He will see the orthopedic specialist in two weeks for a consultation. In the meantime, he has started taking joint supplements.
1/23/20: Piazza wasn’t feeling well so he spent a few nights at the clinic. Bloodwork showed that his white blood cell count was a little high, so we will be on a round of antibiotics for a few days.
1/28/20: Piazza saw the orthopedic specialist today and has been determine that he has a Left cranial cruciate ligament tear and will need to have TPLO surgery. He is scheduled to have surgery on 1/30.
1/30/20: Piazza had his knee surgery today and all went well. He will see the surgeon two weeks after surgery for a check up and to have his stitches removed and then again six weeks later for another check up and x-ray to be sure he is fully healed.
2/16/20: Piazza has been adopted. Congrats Piazza, Scott and Elizabeth!
