11/25/20: Please welcome Phoenix! He is an emergency pick up from Fulton County late in the day on the eve of Thanksgiving. He was picked up as a stray; he was bloody, covered in scabs, cold and scared. We rushed to the shelter to pick him up and get him to our vet for a check up and meds. He was immediate diagnosed with demodex mange and start treatment today. He will need daily medication, medicated baths and some time but we expect that he will be feeling great in now time and make a full recovery.
11/27/20: Phoenix is feeling a little better already! We were in such a hurry to get this guy into our care on Wednesday evening that we didn’t even notice he has a tail! He is not an English or French Bulldog; but maybe an American bulldog. But we are committed to helping him. He is only 33 pounds right now. Dr. Rush thinks he under a year old. He is scared but very sweet.
12/1/20: He is getting baths every other day now and is feeling and looking a lot better. He is settled into his foster home and learning the ropes from his foster brothers and sisters.
12/21/20: Phoenix got a checkup today. His mange is all cleared up but still treating his skin infection with oral medications and medicated baths. Everything else is looking good! We are hopefully he will be all healed up and ready for neuter in two weeks. He is looking and feeling great!
1/8/21: Phoenix had his neuter surgery today and all went well! His infection is all cleared up and his hair is growing back. It’s hard to believe this is the same pup that joined us just six weeks ago, covered in scabs and blood, unable to move. Phoenix is very happy in his foster home. He loves laying by the fire, playing with his foster siblings, and laying on top of his foster mom. He will get his stitches out in two weeks then he will officially be ready for adoption.
