1/13/17: Please welcome Orpheus! He joins us from Upson County Animal Control. He was picked up as a stray and no one came looking for him so they turned him over to us. Thank you Peggy Ferrell, Darlene Taylor and Ruth Running for getting from the shelter to the vet safely.
He needs to be neutered, vaccinated and we need to get his skin infection under control. He does not have mange but he has significant hair loss and we are waiting on a fungal culture and results from a thyroid test. He will be neutered on Tuesday but needs to spend 10 days at the clinic in shelter quarantine. He will move into his foster home after that and he will be ready for adoption once we get his skin looking better.
He is three years old. He is ok with dogs, tolerates cats and is ok with older children. He does not do well with small children.
Update 2/5/17: Orpheus moved into a foster home last week but he his anxiety got the best of him. This caused a small set back with his neuter surgery recovery so he is back at Dr Ross’s clinic for strict crate rest. He really enjoys humping people’s legs! We are expecting this is calm down over time.
Update 1/6/17: Orpheus only humps legs occasionally these days! He has settled down very much.
Update 7/1/18: Orpheus had knee surgery today and all went well!
Update 11/2/18: Orpheus had tail amputation surgery today and all went well!
Update 11/12/18: Orpheus has been adopted by his foster family. Congrats Orpheus and Peoples family!
April 2, 2020 – Orpheus crossed over the Rainbow Bridge today. Please keep his family in your thoughts.
Rest In Peace Prpheus
