4/3/25 – Please welcome Gordo Bombay! Gordo Bombay has been suffering from bladder stones for a little bit and now has one blocking his urethra. His owners were planning to have him euthanized but the vet clinic contacted us to see if we could take him into rescue.
We took him to the emergency clinic and the surgeon was able to do surgery today. The surgeon was not able to flush the urethra stone out, so he had to have an urethrostomy procedure to create a permanent opening for urine drainage. He has also neutered, had stones removed from his bladder, had his palate shortened, his tonsils removed, and his nares widened. We will have the stones analyzed and decide if we need to change his diet.
5/2/25 – The stone report came back, and he did have cystine stones. We will start him on a Hill’s Prescription Diet Urinary Care u/d food to prevent more stones from forming.
6/10/25 – Gordo Bombay had entropion surgery today and both his upper and lower eye lids.
