9/15/19: Please welcome Gertrude! She was found as stray in MS, but her owners were never located. She was passed around to a few homes over a few months’ time and finally found herself safe at a vet clinic. The clinic contacted us to take her in. She needs to be vaccinated, spayed and have will more than likely need to have Total Ear Canal Ablation surgery. She is currently in heat so we will wait a few weeks before we move forward with her spay surgery. Unfortunately, she is heartworm positive. She will start her four week heartworm treatment once she recovers from her surgeries. She should be cleared for adoption once she completes her heartworm treatment.
10/9/19: We discovered on Monday that Gertrude had an open pyometra, so we moved forward with her spay surgery yesterday. All went well and she is recovering nicely. Today she had a consult with the surgeon, and it has been decided she will need to have total ear canal ablation surgery on both ears. We will move forward with this surgery in a few weeks once she fully recovers from her spay surgery.
12/26/19: Gertrude has been adopted. Congrats Gertrude, Marie and Ryan!
