9/26/18: Please welcome Gem She joins us from Lumpkin County Animal Control. She was picked up by animal control as a stray and when no one came looking for her she joined the rescue. She needs to be vaccinated, have her teeth cleaned, have a few decaying teeth extracted, have her palate shortened, her nostril widened, her tonsils removed and be spayed.
She is three years old. She likes dogs and kids but we do not know how she feels about cats.
Update 10/1/18: Gem had her dental surgery today and all went well. She will have her next surgery in a week.
Update 10/9/18: Gem had her second surgery today and all went well! She was spayed, had her palate shortened, her tonsils removed and her nostril widened. We did do allergy testing and are waiting on the results for food and environment allergies.
Update 10/23/18: Gem is doing great in her foster home! She is living with three other dogs and two kids under the age of 10. Her foster parents are working on potty training. We are still working through some allergy and skin issues but they may be long term and/or seasonal issues that will need lifetime maintenance.
Update 11/8/18: Gem has been adopted. Congrats Gem and Stanko family!
April 10, 2021 – Gem crossed over the rainbow bridge. Please keep her family in your thoughts.
Rest In Peace Gem
