Chelsea

1/19/22 – Please welcome Chelsea! Chelsea was turned over to us by animal control as an emergency intake because she was bleeding from her back. After further exam we were able to determine she has an abscess. She is in pain and discomfort and will not let the vet get too close so we have her on pain meds and antibiotics for the moment.

1/21/22 – Chelsea had surgery today and went well. She was spayed, had her palate shortened, her saccules removed, her nares widened, her teeth cleaned, and one tooth extracted. She did have a swollen cervix; we got a sample and will send off to be tested. We were able to flush the abbess, do a culture of the discharge and will continue to treat with oral antibiotics.

2/8/22 – Chelsea saw the vet today for a recheck. The abscess is looking better but not cleared up yet. We will try a different round of antibiotics this time based on the culture results.

2/22/22 – Chelsea had another recheck. We are heading in the right direction, but the abscess is still not cleared up. We will culture the drainage again and go from there with treatment.

3/7/22 – We got the most recent culture back today and will be moving forward with two need medications. They are both injectable and need to be given daily with and anal gland flush/infusion so she will be spending the next week at the clinic for care.

3/18/22 – Chelsea finished her treatment and resting back in her foster home now. She will see the vet again in two weeks for recheck.

4/8/22 – Chelsea has been adopted.  Congrats Chelsea and Seigel family!
