6/14/13: Please welcome Cassie! She is a heartworm positive 3 1/2 year old stray that found herself in a Chattanooga, TN shelter. Her owner did show up to claim her but she was not interested in paying the fees she owed the shelter or her heartworm treatment. Even after the shelter found a local vet to treat her at a very discounted rate.
She is now with us at Riverside Animal Hospital and she will get her heartworm treatment! The shelter spayed her, gave her a chip and got her current on her vaccinations on Wed. She will begin heartworm treatment after she recovers from surgery. Heartworm treatment is three weeks long. Once that is complete she will be moved to a foster home and then she will be available for adoption. She likes dogs. We are not sure if she likes cats or kids.
Update 7/13/13: Cassie finished her HW treatment and was released from the vet then moved to her foster home. She does have a UTI but has been cleared for adoption.
Update 7/28/13: Cassie has been adopted by her foster mom! Congrats Cassie and Ruth!
Cassie crossed over the rainbow bridge. Please keep his family in your thoughts.
