10/14/24 – Please welcome Brasi! Brasi’s owners brought him to the shelter to have him euthanized because of skin issues. The shelter called us and we picked him up that afternoon. He does have significant skin issues and appears to be underweight. He also has an upper respiratory infection so we will be treating that too. Once he is all healed up we will move forward with surgery.
11/1/24 – Brasi started vomiting day before with no real explanation so we gave him some cerenia. But then he vomited 5 more times since getting the cerenia so we bloodwork and X-rays and everything looked normal. We changed to different anti-nausea meds and started feeding EN prescription food
11/5 – Brasi is eating again and no longer vomiting but started having bloody diarrhea.
11/6 – We did an ultrasound and it confirmed severe gastritis. We will continue treating with meds and prescription food.
11/14 – Brasi has surgery today and all went well. He was neutered, had his palate shortened, nares widened and teeth cleaned.
1/28 – Brasi saw the vet today and his ear and skin infections are all cleared up. He is still a bit itchy on apoqeul so we gave him a cytopoint allergy shot today. He will need something long term to help control is allergies. He is eating well and no longer on prescription food.

Dislikes? He does not care for going out into the rain to potty but he does it. He is also not wild about letting the medicine sit for his bath for 5 mins before he can be rinsed and get dried off.
What would be the ideal home for this dog? Someone who can give him lots of affection and keep him on a consistent feeding schedule. He is the sweetest dog who will make a great addition to a family looking for lots of love. He is very smart, adapts well to a schedule, and responds well to direction.
