5/14/16: Please welcome Betty! Betty was turned over to Cobb Co AC when her owner was sent to jail. Cobb Co AC called us and we were there within a few hours to pick her up. Thank you Shannon for giving Betty her a freedom ride! At this time we know she needs to be spayed, has a few decaying teeth that need to be pulled and to have the rest of her teeth cleaned. She is approximately five years old. She is good with dogs and children. We do not know if she likes cats. We do know that she is very sweet and loves to cuddle! She is a smaller bulldog and only weighs 37 pounds.
Update 5/26/16: Betty had her surgery today. Dr Ross discovered that her colon is full of an obscene amount of poop! Once she recovers from anesthesia we will move forward with an enema to see if we can clear her out.
Update 6/1/16: We have not been to able to clear out Betty’s colon even after stool softener and two enema’s the past few days. She is able to poop on her own, so that is a good thing. She will see an internal medicine specialist next week to rule out mega colon or any other serious internal issues.
Update 8/17/16: After numerous visits with the internal medicine specialist we have concluded that Betty may always have some “poop” issues. She is responding well to the two medications she is on, lactulose and cisapride. She will stay on both for the remainder of her life. She will also need enemas if and when she does not poop for a few days. Sweet little girl!
Update 10/15/17: Betty has been adopted by her foster parents. Congrats Betty, Scott and Shannon!
