Beatrice

4/5/24 – Please welcome Beatrice! Beatrice was picked up as a stray and turned over to us by the shelter. She appears to have some scarring from previous skin infection or wounds. She has severe dry eye that has gone untreated for some time and has some limited vision. We hope that over time with proper treatment her vision will get a little better. We will get her started on prescription eye drops that she will need for life for dry eye. She may have limited hearing as well. She will have surgery once her upper respiratory infection clears up. She is a bit underweight so we will work on helping her gain a few pounds.

4/18/24 – Beatrice had surgery today and all went well. She was spayed, had a mammary mass removed, teeth cleaned, two oral mass removed and her nares widened. We will be sending off the mammary mass and oral mass for biopsy. She had a very large ovary, so we are sending that for biopsy as well.

4/29/24 – We got the biopsy reports back today. The oral mass was benign. There is a possibility she we get more of these during her lifetime. The mammary mass biopsy came back benign adenoma hormone dependent so that no that she is spayed she should not develop any others. The ovarian mass was cancerous but it is the type of cancer that should not cause any issues now that it was removed.
