Under the wing of Florida English Bulldog Rescue, Georgia’s Bulldog Rescue took in its first dog in January, 2009. We are now an independent rescue.  We rely solely on donations for the care and treatment of the rescued Bulldogs that are admitted to our organization.  Georgia English Bulldog Rescue, Inc., (GEBR) was incorporated in January 2009 as a non-stock, non-profit corporation with Federal Tax Exemption as a public charity under Section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Our mission is to first ensure the safety and well-being of all English Bulldogs that we take in and second to educate the public in the care of English Bulldogs.  We rehabilitate and re-home English Bulldogs that are sick, neglected, abused, or injured.  Moreover, we provide a safe alternative to shelters for owners that are faced with the already difficult decision of finding a new home for their English bulldog.  GEBR rescued 23 English Bulldogs our first year and since forming in 2009 have rescued 1,125 dogs.  In 2019 we began rescuing French Bulldogs also.  The rescue has approximately 30 -40 dogs in foster care at any given time.

We need DONATIONS as our Vet bills are staggering.  We also need volunteers, supplies, and support for the care and treatment of the rescued English and French Bulldogs that we take into our organization.

We rescue English and French Bulldogs regardless of  medical condition and as foster homes become available.  Veterinary care is our biggest ongoing expense, even after our veterinary care providers extend rescue discounts.

We are an application ONLY rescue. We do not have adoption days although we will finalize adoptions at our events. English and French Bulldogs are very high maintenance creatures and require prior knowledge of their daily care and potential expenses of ownership. We strive to place our dogs in “Furever homes” that will be able to meet those needs and have the means to provide medical care in the future. Our adopters must be completely prepared and aware of what English and French Bulldog ownership entails BEFORE both parties agree to an adoption.

We do not have a kennel as our dogs are fostered in private homes. They are re-acclimated to family life and their temperament is assessed. After a brief foster period (minimum of 2 weeks) recommendations for placement are made based on information provided by our foster families. Foster families also give input throughout the adoption process.

Volunteers are needed all the time. If you live in the Atlanta area and want to be a part of a great organization please contact us. There are many ways you can help. We are always in need of foster homes in the Atlanta area. If you have always wanted an English or French Bulldog but have no English or French Bulldog experience, fostering for GEBR would be the perfect initiation to the breed. We provide all vet care, you provide the food and TLC. If you love English or French Bulldogs and want to be a part of a great organization please contact us. There are many ways you can help.
