10/8/22 – Please welcome Elton Gordo White! Elton Gordo White was being sold by his breeder. Someone purchased him and turned him over to rescue so he could get the care and love he deserves.
10/22/22 – Elton Gordo White has surgery today and all went well! He was neutered, had is palate shortened, his tonsils removed, his nares widened, his teeth cleaned and entropion surgery.
12/17/22 – Elton Gordo White has been adopted! Congrats Elton Gordo White and Mary Margaret!
2/18/25 – Elton Gordo White is back with us! His family is going through some changes and no longer able to keep him. Apparently he urinates on himself during the night and occasionally dribbles urine when awake. We are going to monitor this, try some medication and try to determine if this is a medical or behavioral issue.
3/13/25 – Elton Gordo White has surgery today and all went well! He need his teeth cleaned again and additional entropion surgery on his eyelids. He has been on proin for the past three weeks to see if it helps with his nighttime urination issues. We also added apoqeul to help with his allergies.
5/6/25 – Elton Gordo White has a consultation with the internal medicine specialist today so see if we can get to the bottom on his urination issues. We are adding in another medication called Oxybutynin to see if helps with his overactive bladder syndrome.
6/13/15 – Elton Gordo White seems to be doing well on the two medications twice a day, he no longer dribbles urine when awake but he does his urinate overnight most nights. We decided to move forward with a cystourethroscopy (which showed no abnormalities) and increase his medications to three times a day.
Cystourethroscopy: The urethra appears normal. Both UVJs are normal and open within the trigone of the bladder with normal urine jets. No stones, masses, or diverticula are noted in the bladder. Case Interpretation and Outcome Cystoscopy did not reveal anatomical abnormalities to explain urinary incontinence, suggesting a functional issue with bladder storage or urethral sphincter mechanism. Give the recent improvement with Proin and Oxybutynin, there may be benefit to
increasing the dosing of these medications to every 8 hours (three times a day) to see if there is additional improvement.
Based on this test we are thinking he sleeps so hard he urinates in his sleep and that is just how things are going to be for him. But he is healthy and happy and this is completely manageable. He wears a diaper or belly band overnight, then gets a wipe down with baby wipes in the morning.
9/11/25 – Elton Gordo White has been adopted. Congrats Elton Gordo White and Shumpert family!
approximate age: 5 – DOB 3/11/20
approximate weight: 55 – a few pounds overweight
likes dogs: yes
likes cats: we have not seen him around cats
likes kids: he likes them but plays a bit rough at times so he would do well with older kids only
food: Taste of the Wild, Pacific Stream
lifelong medications: tacrolimus for dry eye, apoqeul for allergies, proin and oxybutynin for urinary issues
likes: meal time, bananas watermelon and blueberries for snack time, lounging outside, playing ball, chew toys, bath time
dislikes: wet gravel, being in a hurry, walking on gravel
ideal home: He would benefit from someone that is home a lot to give him potty breaks throughout the day and keep a regular schedule. He is a very sweet boy that just wants to be with you and take naps. He needs someone patient with his diaper needs and won’t get mad when he has accidents in them. We will not place him in a home with young children because he can be rough when playing.
