8/30/22 – Please welcome Cady and Will! Cady and Will found themselves at the shelter recently after their owners decided they could no longer care for them. They had moved in with family members about a year ago after their family had to leave their home. They were not cared for properly by the family members and the owners felt they had no choice but to surrender them to the shelter. As soon as the shelter notified of them we were there to get them.
We discovered after an ultrasound and blood work that Cady is in severe kidney failure. We are also treating her for an ear and skin infection. We will do what we can to keep her comfortable and happy. And being with Will seems to make her happy so they will be placed in a home together.
Will also has an ear infection and a skin infection. But unfortinetley he has a few other issues going on too. He is cryptorchid, and the testicle that did not drop is six times the size of a normal testicle. We were able to see it in his abdomen on ultrasound and from what we can tell it is normal (no mass or tumors) but it is extremely large. But we will send it off for biopsy once it is removed just to be sure. He also has a mass in his anus that is actively bleeding that we will remove and also send off for biopsy. We will be able to move forward with surgery once his skin infection clears, at that time he will also be neutered, have airway surgery and have his teeth cleaned.
9/21/22 – Will had surgery today and all went well. He was neutered, had his palate shortened, his saccules removed, his nares widened, his teeth cleaned and the mass near his anus removed. We will has the mass and his enlarged testicle sent off for biopsy.
9/23/22 – Cady passed away in her sleep today. Please keep her foster family in your thoughts.
10/2/22 – We got he biopsy results and the mass near the anus is benign and his testicle is fine, it was just swollen.
4/29/23 – Will is doing great in his foster home but still searching for the perfect forever home!
May 26, 2023 – Will crossed over the Rainbow Bridge today. Please keep his foster family in your thoughts. Rest In Peace Will
