2/11/22 – Please welcome Howie Heartthrob! He was picked up as a stray by animal control then turned over to us.
2/15/22 – Howie has had blood in his urine so we did bloodwork and an ultrasound today. The ultrasound shows that he has small kidney stones, kidney infection, prostate infection, and a huge prostate. We think the blood is coming from the prostate. He will be on antibiotics for 7-10 days then we will move forward with surgery.
2/26/22 – Howie is not being treated for an upper respiratory infection. We will post pone his surgery until he is feeling better.
3/10/22 – Howie had surgery today and all went well. He was neutered, had his palate shortened, his saccules removed, his nostrils widened, two teeth extracted, and the rest of teeth cleaned. We are also treating him for an ear infection.
3/24/22 – Howie saw the vet today and he still has an ear infection. It is looking much better, but we will treat with a different medication and recheck again in two weeks.
8/17/22 – Howie had a follow up ultrasound today. His prostate is smaller then earlier this year but still a bit enlarged. He does still have some blood in his urine at times but this is expected with the enlarged prostrate. We have him on another round of antibiotics to knock out any possible infection in the prostrate.
9/22/22 – Howie has been adopted by his foster parents. Congrats Howie, David and Vikki!
