3/11/16: Please welcome Reed! He joins us from a vet clinic in Florence, SC. On January 7th he was found on the side of the road by a vet one of the vet tech. They brought him back to the clinic and immediately began treatment on on his skin and eye. The clinic said he had the worst cherry eye they had seen in 30 years of doing rescue. He could not see at all. Fast forward two months and now Reed can see and his skin is 100% better! He is heartworm positive but not for long. Tuana and Melanie transported him from SC to GA on Friday and he is with Dr Ross now.
The clinic thinks he is between 3-4 years old. He has shown some aggression towards other male dogs at the clinic. So far while with GEBR he has shown that he loves to play with one female bully in particular. We do not know if he likes cats or young children.
Update 4/18/16: Reed completed his heartworm treatment and moved into his foster home. He loves his human foster brother and his new english bulldog foster sister. We did allergy testing and decided to switch his food from our regular flavor. He was diagnosed with dry eye and will need prescription eye drops for life. He is also on Apoquel for allergy/skin issues. He is now ready for adoption.
Update 6/13/16: Reed has been adopted by his foster family! Congrats Reed, Karen, Jack, Brenda and Andy!
August 11, 2023 – Reed crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Please keep his family in your thoughts.
Rest in Peace Reed
