Mango

1/7/19: Please welcome Mango! His owner is no longer able to care for him so she asked us to take him into rescue. He is up to date on his vaccinations and already neutered but he needs to have his palate shortened and see the orthopedic specialist and he has some issues with his back legs as well as falling on his face when he walks.

1/8/19: Mango had his surgery today and all went well! He had his palate shortened and will be breathing better in no time.

1/16/19: Mango saw the orthopedic specialist today and it has been determined that he needs surgery on both back legs. The bones in his legs are not straight. He will have a CT Scan done next week so that we can get 3D printed molds of his legs. This will help the surgeon determine the best way to more forward with his surgery. Once we have this and a surgery plan in place we will move forward with surgery. At this time, we do not know if he will have surgery on both legs at once or if he will need two separate surgeries.

1/21/19: Mango went in for his CT scan today and it was decided he should also he the neurologist and have an MRI. The MRI shows that he has some unusual vertebra that is causing him to fall when he walks. We have decided to post bone leg surgery as it is unclear if fixing, the back legs will truly solve all of his mobility issues. We will consult with the veterinary rehabilitation specialist in a few weeks to explore other options.

2/6/19: Mago saw the veterinary rehabilitation specialist today and started a treatment plan that will consist of acupuncture, laser therapy and underwater treadmill therapy.
