9/12/12: Meet Phil a 10 year old owner surrender. Phil and his son, King were surrendered by his owner as he plans to enter assisted living. The family was in dire need of help finding these babies a safe home and called on GEBR.
Phil is surprisingly spry for his age, in good health and has had regular veterinary care throughout his life. He is now at Dr. Rush’s getting the once over to be sure nothing was missed.
Phil gets along with King but has not had much interaction with others. He has not been around children or cats.
Update 9/18/12: Phil had some very nasty teeth! Dr Rush thought it was a must to clean them! He was concerned that they were causing some other infections through out his body. Phil has been treated over the past few months for a skin infection near his butt and some ear infections. He is also suffering from a bladder infection. He is a bit overweight and needs to drop a few pounds. Yesterday Dr Rush pulled one rotten tooth, cleaned the others and neutered him. We were originally concerned with putting such an old guy under but for the most part he is healthy and Dr Rush thought he would do ok. There were no complications. He and his son King will be moved to a foster home together this afternoon.
We plan to place Phil in a permanent home with his son King.
Update 11/10/12: Phil and his son King have been adopted by their foster parents Deb & Bill!
