Hanz – May 25th, 2020

6/11/14:  Please welcome Hanz!  Hanz was saved from going to the pound by a nice family a while back.  They brought him back to health and got his skin and allergy issues under control.  But once the family moved from Oklahoma to Georgia his skin and allergy issues flared up again.  Frustrated that their vet has been no help and out of money to help Hanz, they called us.

He is safe and with Dr. Rush now.  Thank you Derek for helping with his transport.  As you can see from the photos his paws are red and inflamed and he has lost a lot of hair.  You cannot see from photos how bad he smells of yeast.

He will be neutered on Friday and we will come up with a plan of action for his skin and allergy issues.  He will have a very nice coat of hair in no time!

He is two years old.  We are told he likes dogs and kids but we do not know if he likes cats.

Update 6/13/14:  Dr. Rush confirmed that Hanz has mange, a yeast infection and probably some allergy issues.  We will tackle the mange and yeast infection first with medication and weekly baths.  He will go back to see Dr. Rush in four weeks for a check up.

Update 7/17/14: Hanz had his follow up with Dr Rush and he is still testing positive for mange.  He will continue his medication and we will recheck in four weeks.

Update 8/21/14:  Hanz is mange free!  He does still have a little bacteria on his feet but we are treating that.  He has been cleared for adoption and his adopters will be coming to Atlanta for him in a few weeks.  Lee and Steve did a great job nursing him back to health.  He looks and feels amazing and has a ton of hair!

Update 10/17/14:  Hanz picked out his new parents! And his new parents are related to his foster parents so he is staying in the family!  Congrats Hanz, Elizabeth and Tim!

May 25, 2020 – Hanz crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.  Please keep his family in your thoughts.

Rest In Peace Hanz
