Charlie – May 8th, 2019

1/27/18:  Please welcome Charlie!  He joins us from Carroll County Animal Shelter.  His owners dropped him off there because they no longer wanted to take care of him.  From what we were told he had been living outside. He has a severe ear and mouth infection.  He will need his teeth cleaned, a few decaying teeth pulled and his palate shortened.

He is five years old.  He likes dogs and kids, but we do not know how is feels about cats.

Update 1/29/18:  Charlie had his teeth cleaned and eight decaying teeth pulled today.  Once his infection clears up he will have his palate surgery.

Update 2/28/18:  Charlie had his recheck today and his ear is still severely infected.  We are trying another round of medications and we did allergy testing.  We will recheck again in a few weeks and go from there.

Update 3/20/18:  We got Charlie’s allergy test results back and we are switching his food and starting him on cyclosporine pills to see if this helps with his environmental allergies and hopefully clears up his ear infection for good.

Update 5/14/18: Charlie had a recheck on his skin and ear infections and all is looking great! He will need to stay on daily cyclosporine pills, at least during heavy allergy season. Perhaps someday in the future he can switch to every other day but for now daily pills seem to keep him looking and feeling great.

Update 6/24/18:  Charlie has been adopted.  Congrats Charlie and Frank!

5/8/19: Charlie crossed over the Rainbow Bridge today.  Please keep his family in your thoughts.
