Stash – December 31st, 2020

11/18/15 – Please welcome Stash!  He joins us from a shelter in SC.  Poor guy has a lot going on right now but we plan to get him all fixed up!  He has a horrible upper respiratory infection, huge cherry eyes, a skin infection, severe untreated dry eye, he needs to be neutered and he needs palate surgery.  He will spend two week sin shelter quarantine at Dr Ross’s while we get started on his treatment.

He is six years old.  He likes dogs but we do not know how he feels about cats or young children.  He is a little guy weighing about 45 pounds.

Update 12/15/15:  It has been a month long battle with Stash’s upper respiratory infection but it has finally cleared up and he was able to have surgery today.  Dr Rush shortened his palate, neutered him and corrected both of his cherry eyes.  We suspect they may poop again considered how large they were and how sever his dry eye is.  We will watch him closely and repair again if needed.  We are treating his dry eye with tacrolimus, cyclosporin and Optixcare Eye Lube.  We suspect he will remain on all three for an extended period of time if not for ever.

Update 1/10/16:  Stash has another bacteria infection on his belly and one of his cherry eyes popped out again.  He is resistant to most oral medications so we are having to treat this infections topically.  Once we have it under control he will have surgery to correct his cherry eye.

Update 2/19/16: Stash had his second cherry eye surgery today and all went well.

Update 3/18/16:  Stash is doing great and has been cleared for adoption.  He is a social little guy!  He loves to be out an about and meet other dogs and people.

Update 3/26/16: Stash has been adopted! Congrats Stash and Blackburn family!

December 31, 2020:  Stash crossed over the Rainbow Bridge today.  Please keep his family in your thoughts.

Rest In Peace Stash
